We’ve already gone over the whole PZ Myers vs. Ben Stein bonanza, and yes, the whole thing has pretty much buried any credibility the creationists ever had (they had credibility?). But, hell, let’s keep going just in case.
I’m recording the next Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe episode right now, and we just finished a great interview with my favorite repeat guest, Dr. Eugenie Scott. I’ve made no secret about how much I look up to her, so I won’t bother to go off on my girl-crush tangent again here.
Instead, I’ll just mention her latest creation: a web site devoted to dispelling myths from Ben Stein’s propaganda movie Expelled. Check it out at www.expelledexposed.com, and if you have a blog or a web site please link to it! Let’s increase the traffic and bump it up in Google, so that the next time someone searches for more info on Expelled, they get the truth. Go Genie!

At this point, I think it would be a good idea to devote a big graphic link on blogs pointing to the exposed site. That will help its google rankings, keep it front and center, and so on. You can steal the half-ass graphic I shopped up for my blog (amusingly, before the official EE site had anything other than links), or just make one of your own.
I don’t know how it happened, but my decidedly third tier blog ended up one of the top results for “expelled review” and other permutations, so I’m trying to direct the steady and increasing flood of visitors to the more official and authoritative pushback sources as much as I can.
Bad, I don’t think that graphic is half-assed at all. It’s at least 0.99-assed. At this level of detail, it’s indistinguishable from complete-assed. =)
Oh, and I’m TOTALLY gonna gank it once I get my thoughts together about the movie.

Speaking of google searches, I’ve noticed that if you search for “expelled movie” not even a single science site expressing criticism of the movie appears on the first page: you don’t get to Phil Plait until the second page.
This, folks, is no good. We need to have at least one pro-science site up there directing people to criticism of the film when this thing really hits the culture/media in April. Right now when ordinary people search for more information about the film on this, the most likely of all keywords, they are getting pretty much a solid wall of creationist apologia.
I’m not expert in google ranking, but I’m betting that more links “expelled movie” would help, as well as any advice someone who does understand google ranking can give us.
