TAM 6 Registration is Now Open!

You know what to do, people — log on, register for The Amaz!ng Meeting 6, fly to Vegas and party with 1,000 of your closest skeptical friends, including me and a number of Skepchicks (I’ll post the full list once I know for sure). There are also all my old buddies like Phil Plait, Steve Novella (and the rest of the SGU), Richard Wiseman, oh yeah, and of course there’s also

NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON!

I know, I could barely contain myself as well. Tyson is the best thing to happen to critical thinking since the cerebrum. Click here to see the rest of the guest list and to register! Go! Now!

  1. Arrrrgggghhh! Now I'm really jealous! I love Neil DeGrasse Tyson. He's this generation's Carl Sagan and has an infectious passion for science and learning. Hope someone records his presentation at TAM.

It's such a pity we don't have meetings like these in Latin America, though CFI has made strides in that direction. [This is a not so subtle enjoinment to Latin American Skepchick readers… we need our own Skeptalicious meeting]

Now, if you'll excuse me I'll go sulk in a corner.

  2. Well my daughter wants to go so I suppose I'm forced to escort her. Vegas. What ever is there to do there between sessions?

  3. I really want to go. I can raid my savings.

I just have to say that I went to another skeptical conference in 2002 (not a TAM) and it was great! I got to talk to people like Jan Harold Brunvand (wrote the book(s) about Urban Legend ), Massimo Pigliucci, Richard Wiseman, Ken Miller (evolutionary biologist) and Joe Nickell. I highly recommend it.

So, will there be a Skepchick get together so we can schmooz? I don't post here too often but I do visit alot, and link to you from the site I manage, PA Nonbelievers, and a faithful listener to SGU. I'd like to meet lots of new people. And, I don't want to go round by myself because who would take pictures of me with all these cool folks!

  4. I was already looking for the "renew membership" button last month. Didn't find it yet.

I can't quite afford to register for TAM6 yet, and I have to doublecheck whether I can take about two weeks off in that period, but I am definitely planning to be there.

  5. My husband John and I are officially registered. My parents gave it to us for our anniversary/my birthday gift/Christmas 2008 gift(s). We are so stoked.

  6. I want to go so bad…I think I will start a get Surly Amy To TAM6 fund…. From here on out I will put all the money I make selling my "Smart Jewelry" into a cardboard box. If I make enough to get there I will pass out Atheist and science necklaces to everyone I meet.

    :)
