Is THIS Jesus the reason for the season?

Ok, that’s not as good as the headline in today’s Denver Post:

Jesus may save, but Christians spend

Apparently there are tons of kitschy Christian themed toys and gifts on the market this year. The kind that make me think of Jesus throwing the money changers out of the temple. If stuff like this doesn’t make a mockery of Christianity, I don’t know what does. They sure make it easy to trivialize their religion. How can anyone take this guy seriously?

  1. HMMM… there was one at the quick mart. It was the Manger Scene poorly rendered in that painted resin along with all the expected players. The best part was…unexplicably… the little baby Jesus was in a snow globe in the middle of it all.

Made in China too. Makes you wonder what new knowledge the Chinese factory workers assembling the things took away from it.

  2. You'd think that the symbol on the side of his bike would at least be something recognizable, like the typical christian fish, or even just a simple cross. Instead, it appears to be a stylized version of his face? I think?

I actually think it's a pretty nice figurine. And the fact it's borderline blasphemous just adds to its beauty
