It’s not all in your mind (ha ha, see what I did there, Built to Spill fans?), there are changes afoot. The buggy, spam-attacked Skepchick forum has transformed into a fresh new Drupal-powered butterfly. The new address is:

There are more changes to come, like with the layout and colors and all that, but we wanted to get this going as quickly as possible because when the admin of the board (moi) can’t even access it, well, that’s just not cool.

Hey wait a minute… I just saw Built to Spill last Saturday night, and they did not mention a thing about any updates to the forum. I'm calling shenanigans.
It was buried deep within the lyrics, dpeterman. Like, really deep. Somewhere in Carry the Zero I think.

Also, you seem to have maintained my standing login for the blog (impressive in its own right), or at least the Meta box says "logout" rather than "login", and presumably this comment worked….
… but, that didn't carry over to the forums.
Indeed, the forums didn't recognize my by username or E-mail address, and of course I've long since forgotten my password. Are those accounts supposed to be separate? (if so, bboooo hhiissss unceccesary duplication! ;-) )
I think we're going to make the blog and forum log-ins the same, buuuuut that might take some tweaking! Sorry for the inconvenience, I'll let Aaron know.

Also, I don't know what is so much better about this forum software, but for starters, I can't even see where one post begins and the previous one ends. And no avatars? No proper way of quoting other posts either?

I think, however, that Drupal is a much more stable base than phpBB. it's just that whatever skin is on there is… un-great.
Yeeeeeah, sorry you're not all blown away but the fact is that phpbb is so bad that it was continually crippled by DoS attacks, overrun by spammers, and inaccessible to 3/4 of the world's population, including the girl who runs it. So, uh, deal with it.
Once the kinks are worked out, the prettiness will be enhanced significantly.
