In Juneau!
Yesterday we saw Hubbard Glacier from the ship, watching huge chunks of it break off and crash into the ocean. The sound was the best — like there was thunder coming from this huge block of ice. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
Last night a group of us hung out playing poker until around 2am, but still managed to get up early for today’s trip into Juneau. Phil Plait, his gorgeous wife Marcella, Richard Saunders and I took a tram up to Mount Roberts, where we got a great view of the city. We ran into Randi on the way back down, had some coffee at the bottom, and then took a bus trip out to get a closer look at the glacier from another angle. That was followed by a perfect lunch right on the water and some wandering around town.
Now Richard and I are here at the Internet cafe — I tried to upload pics but can’t figure out how to do it on this computer, sadly. Upon arrival back home, I’ll try to get everything up on the Flickr account.
Oh, and just a quick note: Richard talks really funny and can’t say the word “aluminum.” That’s all for now!
Phil's wife is "gorgeous", eh? Is she a "trophy wife", like PZ's? ;)

Probably he just sticks to the european style: aluminium
Your right Nador,
Richard is an Aussie and we follow the Brits with Aluminium here
The English and the Aussies have a different style. You can understand them; it just takes a little while. And indeed we thank the English who gave us the inch, the yard, and mile. And of course we should thank them if they never smile.
This is incredibly off topic, but you guys have to check out this site. I was up late watching the History channel and this commercial came on; it seriously hurts to watch. Kinoki Detox Footpads
