Something to get geeked about

The Wellcome Trust has just made tens of thousands of scientific images FREE to you online!!

“All content has been made available under a Creative Commons Licence, which allows users to copy, distribute and display the image, provided the source is fully attributed and it is used for non-commercial purposes.”

Ok, who can find the coolest image first?
I’m really digging the psychedelic SEM photos of insects…Blowfly wing

Also, sorry for being invisible at Skepchick lately–lots of projects at work. I hope to be back saying inappropriate things soon. :)

  1. Poop, looks like the server crashed under the weight of everyone stampeding to see the cool free stuff.

I've been getting a server error for several hours. :(

  2. That site is loading sporadically. Just got to hit it right, I guess.

bug_girl, I really do wish you'd hurry up and get back to saying inappropriate stuff. I'm feelin' kinda lonely in the blogosphere in that department.

Geez, come to think of it, without your influence in the blogoverse, I can't even think of the last time I said something outrageously inappropriate.

    How depressing.

Guess I'll have to think of something big now to make up for lost time…

    Kisses

  3. Cool site, bug_girl. There's some neat historical pictures and drawings on there. After looking at squid, plagues, lobsters pulling a chariot, etc., I searched words such as "quack," "potion," and "beautiful" just to see what it would pull out of the text…odd things like this. (Yeah, I'd be worried too.)

And if you search "energy" you get some pseudoscience stuff, glowing alien heads and a kid poking at electrical plugs. All sorts of things there…Thanks for passing that on!
