Round Three of the Public Radio Talent Quest!

Thanks to everyone who voted for me in the second round of the Public Radio Talent Quest — because of you, I just made it into Round Three! More details to come on what the new challenges will be. Whatever they are, they’re sure to be lots of fun and I can’t wait!

Kudos to the three very talented people who were let go: Bee (a fellow roller derby star!), Komal (fellow Bostonian!), and Carrie (fellow geek chick!).

  1. Woohoo! Congrats, Rebecca!

How many more rounds are there? It seems weird to me that they would narrow it down from a nice, round number like ten, to seven…I thought you'd previously said that they were KEEPING three, not letting three go. That would have made more sense to me. How many will they cut this time?

Well, regardless, keep us all informed of whatever lies ahead, and what you'll have to do. I'd wish you good luck if I thought there were such a thing, so instead I'll say 'YOU CAN DO EET.'

…my goodness, did I just reference Rob Schneider? Kill me, as soon as possible…

  2. Thanks Expat! There are two more rounds — next one cuts it to five, and then to three. Those three will receive the prize of their own show to pitch to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. CPB will choose which if any to develop.

  3. Great news, way to go, Rebecca!! Can't wait to see what they'll spring on you all for Round 3.

So, now I have seven videos to listen to…gee, I agree with only one of their eliminations…interesting. Well, I hate my voice which is why I pay attention to everybody else's, so congratulations to those three for making it to the top ten, especially considering the number of entries.

Break out the bubbly for today!

  4. Yeah, congrats.

And you seem to be doing fine without me even voting for you (you know, procrastination and all). I promise I'll try to remember next time.

    I think …

  5. Congratulations!

I'm a bit bummed to hear that no one is *guaranteed* a show in the final analysis. I thought that the rules stated one person will get their own show.

I guess there is a subtle yet important difference between producing a show and having that show picked up by a broadcast company…

  6. Great news Rebecca!! Congratulations on making Round 3 and especially on winning the popular vote. Will they let us vote again in subsequent rounds? Hope so–you've got what it takes to go all the way!
