Sad
I’d like to apologize to all the readers of Memoirs of a Skepchick. Though I try to enact the highest standards of quality in each and every post, circumstances beyond my control prevent me from performing even the most basic editorial tasks, such as running a spell check, having someone read for grammar, or, you know, fact checking.

Thus it is with great sorrow that I point out that despite what I wrote two days ago, Mr. Wizard is, in fact, still alive.

Happy
Apparently, Mr. Wizard is still alive.

Sad
Scientists are sick, evil bastards. That’s the only conclusion one can reach when confronted with a headline like Scientists Happy About Sad Monkeys. Researchers have discovered that just like humans, sweet and adorable little monkeys can get depressed, getting us one step closer to understanding this disease. Aw. Don’t you just want to give him a hug and a banana? Actually, I could use a hug and a banana, too.

Happy
I just ate a banana and am now asking around at work so I can get a hug.

Sad
No one at work wants to hug me.

Happy
Moving on, I’m pleased to announce the publication of the fourth issue of Skepchick, boasting a new crop of fantastic writing from some great critical thinkers. Read and enjoy!

Sad
I probably won’t be able to post again until Monday because I’m going away for the weekend. If I fail to find an Internet connection Saturday or Sunday, I encourage you all to read over Skepchick, listen to the latest Skeptics’ Guide podcast featuring yours truly, reread the previous 60 Skepchick blog entries, and then curl into the fetal position and weep softly until my return on Monday.

Happy
I’ll be back on Monday.

  1. Sad

Rebecca thinks scientists are sick, evil bastards when studies show only 30% are sick, 2% are bastards, and 95% are evil.

    Depressed

Skepchick doesn't feature the headline "Study Shows God Hates Us".

    Fetal Position

Rebecca won't be back until Monday (I've already read through everything by yesterday)

  2. >> Researchers have discovered that just like humans, sweet and adorable little monkeys can get depressed, getting us one step closer to understanding this disease.

They are just now discovering that? One of my cats is on anti-anxiety meds for OCD and self-mutiliating tendencies. Of course other highly intelligent mammals get psychological disorders similar to humans. Hell, my cat's meds were originally developed to treat humans!
